‘Otto’ is a modern reinterpretation of traditional ottoman divan seating that merges the separate cushions into a monolithic bench. It is upholstered entirely in a distinctive shimmering moire-patterned fabric with a unique subtle wavy wood grain pattern called ‘kutnu’.
‘Kutnu’ was specifically chosen, as it is a traditional fabric that was once reserved by Ottomans for royal kaftans and furnishings. Today, it is woven using the same technique only by a handful of craftsmen in Gaziantep.
The ‘Otto’ bench was designed by Yellowdot to celebrate this unique fabric, bringing the historical fabric into a new light with a timeless contemporary touch.
