Ossa is a Collection of Sculptural Vases entirely crafted and decorated by hand.
The ceramic pieces have been modeled together by Chiara and Francesco (ccontinua+mamt) simultaneously sculpting them.
Expanding the storytelling on a volumetric dimension, this hand building technique allows to achieve an enduring sense of malleability, and the resulting forms appear to be in a constant state of flux, resembling “unfinished” animal creatures.
The porcelain’s surface treatment evokes the texture of bone, while the glossy finish accentuates their volumes.
The porcelain drawings by MAMT delve into the intersection of human nature and the natural world, seamlessly merging humanity with plants and animals. They appear imprinted in the ceramic, akin to ink beneath the skin, like a tattoo.
This conceptual fusion creates a timeless, cyclical world devoid of a discernible beginning or end, taking us on a journey back to our origins.
The collection is crafted entirely by hand, ensuring that each piece is one-of-a-kind. This means that every vase in the collection is unique, featuring slight variations.
