Myceen creates furniture and interior products from novel mushroom mycelium materials. Combining nature’s intelligence with scientific innovation and design, their globally recognised products present sustainable alternatives to conventional materials.
Trained as a Spatial Designer, Siim Karro, Myceen’s co-founder and lead designer, studied at the Estonian Academy of Arts and The Royal Danish Academy. Before co-founding Myceen in 2021, Siim worked at renowned Didier Faustino’s Paris office.
Established in Tallinn, Myceen’s mission is to tackle the challenges of unsustainable material culture. Starting with design products, Myceen is now transitioning to industrial-scale production of mycelium-based materials for the construction industry.
In 2022, Myceen’s pendant B Wise received the Estonian product design award BRUNO.
In 2024, Siim received the Young Designer Award SÄSI from the Estonian Design Association, recognising his contribution to building Myceen as a designer with a distinct and forward-looking vision.
