Kado—the Japanese word for “corner”—pays homage to the piece’s defining feature: its precise, 90-degree brushed aluminum shell. This sharp, architectural form is softened by the gentle, slouchy leather that wraps within, creating a striking contrast of structure and suppleness.
The bag is the result of a thoughtful collaboration between Nowhow Studio, a Japanese design duo, and Obscure Objects. It fuses industrial minimalism with artisanal craftsmanship, pairing a raw aluminum case with ultra-soft French lamb leather.
The outer shell is constructed from brushed aluminum, joined by exposed stainless steel nuts and bolts—a deliberate nod to honest construction. A subtle wax coating protects the surface, while every leather element is hand-cut, stitched, and assembled, including the dark grey pigskin lining, chosen for its durability and luxurious feel.
Each Kado piece is handcrafted and made to order in Germany, balancing technical precision with tactile beauty.
All edges are carefully chamfered by hand to protect your garments from any damage. The stainless steel chain can be adapted to any length on request.
