In our modern era, the once-sacred tradition of shared meals has been overshadowed by the fast-paced rhythm of contemporary life. Yet, it is precisely this tradition of shared meals that anchors us, gives us stability, and enriches our lives through the exchange of ideas and thoughtful conversations. The turtle symbolizes stability and wisdom through its longevity, slow movement, and patience. When designing a dining table—a place where people come together to share a meal—we wanted to bring these values of the turtle to life. We captured the steady nature of the turtle in the table’s weighted flipper-like legs and its strong wooden top, giving it a slow, deliberate presence. In turn, each gathering around the table becomes a tribute to human connection and the ongoing exchange of ideas that build both stability and wisdom. The Turtle Dining Table serves as a reminder of the significance of slowing down and sharing a meal, as well as the stability and wisdom that come from spending time with those we cherish.
The Hatch Dining Table is handcrafter from solid Walnut and Oak. Each table is made to order and the dimensions and materials can be customized.
