    Description

    GALAXY table lamp was designed for the Atomic collection by Mexican artist Isabel Moncada.

    The Space Age was full of terms of the stellar universe to name utilitarian and stylized artifacts that represented the feeling of that time. The Galaxy table lamp is a great example, a solid wood-turned base with a classic 60’s style and brass details that could be reminiscent of a spaceship. It uses a low-watt LED light that lasts up to 18 years and saves 90% of energy consumption.

    Natural Parota wood base with matte finish, hand-forged brass parts, and sturdy lampshade with fiberglass and linen.

    All of Isabel Moncada’s lighting is UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certified, which ensures a high standard of safety and quality.

    Isabel Moncada is a Mexican designer and artist who specializes in the design of lighting and utilitarian art made in her own workshop in Mexico. Through exploring and finessing traditional manufacturing techniques, Isabel has developed her own mechanisms and transformed materials to develop her designs and engrave her personal style.

    Isabel Moncada is a Mexican designer who specializes in the design of lighting fixtures made in her own workshop in Mexico. For more than 30 years she has explored and implemented ancient techniques of artisan manufacturing, developing different crafts, inventing mechanisms and transforming materials to improve the performance, quality and design of her pieces. She began to venture into the art world in the 1990s. While working for some established sculptors in Guadalajara, she set up her own studio at home and began to approach design with an artistic style that evolved into engineering, mechanics and 3D modeling.
