Description

At the first sight, the vases in this themes look like as a standard vase with a handle. But the handle is the same shape as the symetrical side of the vase. It completes the deficient part of the external silhouette of the main body.
And the story begins now. The deficient part is connected to the main body with a handle, referring to the ways of holding on to life.

This vase is fully handcrafted in stoneware using coiling method.

To keep the naturalness of the material it left unglazed. Therefore, it is not water tight and is suitable only for dried flowers.
Due to handcrafted production, slight variations are expected.

Esra Misirli Kubilay is a Turkish ceramic artist. She took the design in to the focus of her life and worked as a fabric designer for many years after graduating from textile engineering. Her desire to make the product she designed tell a story, led her to ceramics. Her motivation point is that everyday objects have a language. Nourished by the collective consciousness, she started to make vases using traditional methods. The touchstone of her works are minimalism, aesthetics and uniqueness. In line with these 3 components, she examines human emotions.
