This is a modern interpretation of the ancient game of chess by Brave New Lines. With soft tactile forms, it balances a moderate level of detail with well-rounded proportions. The pieces are naive interpretations of their origin, so people of all ages may connect intuitively with the character they represent on the board. The MDF board has a natural, toned-down presence, with muted contrast to make the pieces stand out.
The pieces are made from specific ratios of various waste plastics, including snus boxes, DVD covers, and frying oil canisters. All are collected, injection molded, and finished by hand in Trondheim.
