    Dice is a small stool crafted by Montreal-based studio Fomenta. Made from Canadian maple and aluminum dowels, this stool explores the proportions of the square and the rectangle through chunky and assumed lines, speaking of the hardwood it is made of. Dice is available in natural, black or green lacquered finish. Each piece is handcrafted in Montreal, in collaboration with local craftmanship.

    Atelier Fomenta is a design studio based in Montreal, and works at the scales of object, scenography and installation. The studio is interested in patina and material memory: what explains the fact that we preserve certain things and how the affect we give to these things can create a history, a place for interaction and exchange. The objects that intrigue Fomenta are those that explore different ways of interacting with the body, which lie between the functional and the ironic, between the useful and the sculptural. Atelier Fomenta gives an important place to the methodology of each project, ranging from research and documentation to creation as well as the collaboration with the local craftsmanship.
