    ‘Route’ is a series of cast aluminum objects inspired by movement as a continuous, evolving process. Here, form is not a final goal but a route — a state of becoming within the material. The artist focuses on the journey itself: how form develops, flows, and unfolds in space.
    Each piece is handcrafted, with the casting process integral to the work’s narrative. The material is not merely shaped but engaged in dialogue. Echoing riverbeds, roots, or branching systems, the forms convey a sense of motion — never static, always extending beyond their boundaries.

    Sofia Karnukaeva, a Barcelona-based artist and architect, observes and interprets the world around her through form and material, using an intuitive method of transformation. She explores how external conditions influence the emergence of new forms. In the shapes crafted by Sofia, one can perceive her endeavor to translate the abstract into the tangible and the intuitive into the sensory. Her tactile vessel-sculptures evoke bodily and zoomorphic forms, bearing a resemblance to nests, beehives, or caves.
