The triple A45 bench in shades of blue by Parafernalia is a one of a kind, unique piece, commissioned for a booth show at Zona Maco 2025 in Mexico City for Elle Decoration. It’s a variation of the A45 chair which was the first piece that resulted from the A45 system, a constructive exploration that focuses on utilizing prefabricated materials, more specifically square profile tubing, which is then rotated at a 45 degree angle.
The piece takes advantage of the rotated disposition of the tubing to create angles from which the curved backrest and seat are born, which are then mechanically fixed to the structure using aluminum rivets, this allows for the finish of the structure and the surfaces to vary, in the case of this piece utilizing two distinct shades of blue for the seating and stricture. The cantilever nature of the chair, combined with the angles of the seating surfaces result in a surprisingly comfortable seating experience, in part due to the bouncy characteristic afforded to even the hardest of materials when placed in a cantilevered disposition.
