Food is everything that is taken in by humans and used to keep them alive. However, we throw away an average of half a kilo of food per day. This means 89 million tons of food are wasted each year in Europe only.
Alimenta is an experimentation project conducted by me, on food waste and biobased material. In this project, I tapped my ability in making and I created an ad-hoc material using food waste I produced daily. We are continuing to make new products by sourcing fresh raw materials while we could create from our waste. We must create what is yet to come with what is already here.
Materials: dehydrated food leftovers, salt, flour, gypsum and bone glue.
The Alimenta vase is decorative and not water-resistant, it can be used for dried flowers.
