Based near Lisbon, Portugal, Studio Ēeme is a ceramic and design studio focused on lighting and sculptures. At the heart of its creations lie the themes of fertility, movement, and tenderness.
In 2023, Studio Ēeme unveiled its debut collection. By spring 2024, it had been selected to showcase at Lisbon’s premier collectible design fair, Lisbon by Design. Over the course of its first year, the studio was highlighted in several national and design publications.
The studio's collection revolves around an exploration of patterns, such as the distinctive drape pattern of the Tenderness sconces, and of materials, with the combination of wood and ceramics in the Abundance Sculptures, that reveal the multifaceted nature of clay. Following the spiritual and movement practice of its founder, Marie-Laure Davy, the studio's creative journey has been a blend of meditation, writing, and dance which translates into the clay through gentle gestures and instinctual forms.
Ceramic artist and founder of Studio Ēeme, Marie-Laure Davy, studied ceramics at Arco in Lisbon, Portugal. Originally from France, she lived in New York for over 10 years, where she pursued illustration and model drawing classes on the side of a career in advertising and raising her two children, Noah and Sofia.
