Mehmet studied Material Science and Engineering in Istanbul.
Discovering his strong interest in design and making, Mehmet pursued a self-taught career.
As his interest turned to a lifelong passion, Mehmet decided to go beyond his self-taught discipline. He studied MA Design Products at the Royal College of Art. He has been working on furniture and lighting design since graduating in 2018.
Mehmet founded Studio Birtane in Istanbul, 2023. He aims to focus on his creative expression nurtured by his passion for design, craft, and manufacturing.
