The diverse iterations of Arc Annex explore the unresolved circle as boundary, and a site of encounter. Emphasis is given on the continuity, rupture and reconfiguration of limits, or breaking of boundaries. Along the curve, a vertical vase or candleholder, can be aligned magnetically, and rearranged at any point along the arc.
Through pure forms and minimal interventions, the design series engages critically with the concept of an end, of a function or a use. Identity, like function, is understood as provisional. Meaning arises from relation and the tension between balance and fragility. Each design exists within a system of reconfigurable parts, capable of extension and inversion, forming new alignments. Magnetically linked, the modules engage through attraction, resisting permanence.
The vertical attachment (Ø 3 cm × H 35 cm) is fitted with a magnetic sphere at its base. A corresponding sphere on the opposite side of the arc secures it while allowing it to slide along it.
