Designed and manufactured in Ecuador by design studios NAVE and STUHL, this piece explores the relationship between function and form through the interplay of orthogonal planes. Crafted entirely from stainless steel, the WRP-0004 ashtray is composed of intersecting flat surfaces that define three distinct zones: a tray for collecting ash, a slot for storing cigarettes, and a dedicated rest for the one in use.
Amid the rigid geometry, a single gesture disrupts the order: the ash tray’s horizontal plate bends gently into a 90-degree curve. This subtle deviation introduces a sculptural moment within the otherwise linear composition, highlighting the tension between structure and softness. The result is an object that balances utility with aesthetic discipline, where every plane, edge, and curve serves both purpose and presence.
This ashtray is entirely made out of 3mm thick corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel. It offers durability, formability, and a sleek, contemporary look.
