Residential or public space often dictates the form and function of the furniture that will occupy it. But what if the space spontaneously changes—can the piece adapt to these changes? Will it continue to look aesthetically pleasing in the new space?
SKNYPL answers these questions affirmatively with CABINET+—an object consisting of four pieces of furniture: two stools, a coffee table, and a rack. In its disassembled state, all the elements perform their individual functions, and when assembled, they transform into one large shelving unit for storing various items and books.
CABINET+ is entirely made of wood. Its elements can be combined in any order, not only vertically but also horizontally, as the furniture is equipped with connectors on all sides. This allows the person to assemble an infinite number of combinations, including connecting as many “cabinets” as desired. CABINET+ can adapt to changes not only in the space but also in daily plans.
CABINET+ was first presented at the Brussels and New York Collectible Design Fair in 2024.
For indoor use only.
