Velvet Object by UKWIAŁ represents a bold exploration of new forms of expression in ceramics, characterized by striking color combinations and soft, tactile finishes. Each piece is individually hand-formed, imbuing it with a unique character and an organic presence. Through the innovative use of the flocking technique, the ceramics are transformed into unexpectedly soft, velvety textures that invite touch and intrigue. These creations reflect a profound fascination with nature, blending artistry and material experimentation to create objects that are both visually compelling and sensorially engaging.

The hand-molded object is glazed inside and finished with soft rayon fibers on the outside. Do not keep water inside. If necessary, clean with a soft brush or lint roller.

Justyna Bugajczyk UKWIAŁ is an artist based LA. Born in Poland. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in printmaking from the J. Długosz Academy and a master’s degree in photography from the Film School in Łódź. She has participated in numerous photography exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Berlin. She is the author of the photobook “Helotyzm, czyli przestrzeń zawłaszczona” (“Helotism, or Appropriated Space”), which was showcased at the Circulation(s) festival in Paris. In recent years, the artist has focused on exploring a new medium, clay. In her creative explorations, she concentrates on form, its organic nature, and its impact on color.
