Description

The Lilith sculptural vessel embodies radical minimalism. Its organic and generous curves were entirely handcrafted using coiling and sculpting techniques. Hand-built and textured in white stoneware, this unique piece beautifully expresses its mineral materiality. To enhance its allure, a black oxide slip was brushed onto the surface, resulting in a deep satin finish. The vitrified interior reveals the white stoneware, providing a refined contrast with the exterior brut surface. This one-of-a-kind creation invites contemplation and reconnection

Throughout history, dominant interpretations of the myth associated Lilith with chaos, demons, and seduction. She was frequently depicted as a siren, a witch, and other fearful feminine figures. Her tale is now undergoing a reinterpretation and Lilith emerges as an independent woman, fiercely advocating for equality, and embodying her sensuality, untamed passion, and strength.

About Lucia Mondadori Visit Showroom →

Lucia Mondadori (b.1981) is a Brazilian ceramic artist based in Paris. Her sculptural work explores the aesthetic interplay between the organic and the symbolic. In a language of rounds and curves, where brut stoneware meets refined glaze work, the forms are voluptuous, sometimes totemic, and always serene. In her work, Lucia investigates and celebrates our relationship to the senses and to femininity, whether experienced or observed, and weaves her themes into unique pieces that strive to combine the useful, the beautiful and the sacred.
