The Calendar 2024, a delightful addition to Theodora Alfredsdottir’s collection, reimagines the act of time-tracking as a visual journey. Inspired by a conversation with her father, both of whom perceive months through a prism of colors and shapes, this unique calendar translates their shared perspective into a tangible experience.

This innovative calendar, designed to hang on your wall with the support of four pins, features 13 sheets suspended in a dynamic composition. Each page represents a month of the year, and as time unfolds, completed pages are flipped onto the other two pins. By the year’s end, this ever-changing artwork transforms into a captivating tapestry—a visual voyage through time and cherished memories.

Once the year concludes, the artwork becomes a canvas for personalization. You have the freedom to retain Theodora’s original composition or explore your own creative arrangements by dividing and reorganizing the pages, crafting two distinct artworks that resonate with your sensibilities.

Theodora is an Icelandic product designer based in London. She holds a bachelor’s degree in product design from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and a master’s degree in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in London in 2015. Theodora’s work revolves around the narrative an object can inhabit and exploring ways of objectifying that narrative. She's interested in the way an object can act as documentation of it’s manufacturing process; a record of what went on between the machine, tools, craftsman and material as well as it can communicate it’s origin and former life. That often leads to discovery of unexpected qualities as well as it gives the user a subtle opportunity to reconsider our material world and explore value in a different way.
