Description

From the “S.V.P.” collection, the “Soliflore” proposed here bases its singularity on an aesthetic-fiction where the imaginary and the ideal are uniform to suggest a relative functional artwork. The use of PVC tubing for the object consists of making the undesirable desirable, making the insignificant significant to show with irony and poetry the attraction and the erasure of the borders of propriety.

A mixture of craftsmanship and digital technology, this reversible “Soliflore” is fitted with an Altuglas disc that allows the flower to be received, while diverting the viewer’s gaze from any controversy.

About Elisabeth Baeza Visit Showroom →

Trained in design at School of Fine Art in Saint-Etienne (ESADSE, France), Elisabeth Baeza develops since 2014 in Belgium an experimental activity of the object through her label mala leche Design. Borderline between art and design, she uses materials without history and secondary raw materials of an industrial nature and from mass building. Without any apparent technique, she ensures a technical and economic independence based on the foundation of minimal and conceptual art. Her plastic approach consists of making undesirable material desirable, of making the insignificant object meaningful in order to create a functional work. The aesthetic-fiction that she proposes through these collections suggests a reflection on the attraction and erasure of our collective unconscious. All artwork is in limited series or designed as a single piece.
