The AMORFO collection is part of the research and development of objects made of soapstone – a typical material from the Ouro Preto region, Minas Gerais – carried out by ALVA.
Exploring the malleability of the material, the designers play with the amount of emptiness that gives a vase its function; as this emptiness diminishes, this function loses its place in the form. It results in pieces that move between the utility object and the sculptural object. These variations in the sizes of the bulbs and mouths suggest the sensation of movement; the vases seem to want to expand across the flat surface of tables or floors.
Available in three variations:
AMORFO 01 (17 (Ø) x 25 (H))
AMORFO 07 (40 (Ø) x 7 (H))
AMORFO 09 (18 (Ø) x 15 (H))
