This groovy set of mouthblown water vessels is inspired by glassware that dates back to the 15th century. In the medieval days, wine goblets and vessels were not just vessels for holding liquids; they held ceremonial significance. Often used in religious rituals, feasts, important gatherings and, some goblets were adorned with applied decorations, such as glass trails or small glass blobs. These embellishments not only served an aesthetic purpose of looking simply divine but also provided additional grip when eating greasy foods with your hands.
Brought to life by a father-son glasshouse nestled in the bohemian forest in the Czech Republic, a region that carries a legacy for its crystal and glassmaking. Each piece is made using time-honored, artisanal techniques that have existed since the 1400’s and is made with intention.
