16 Independent Designers and Studios to Discover at WANTED at ICFF 2025
The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), North America’s premier platform for global design, returns to New York’s Javits Center on May 18-20, 2025. This year’s theme, “Designing in Harmony,” celebrates human-centered, multi-sensory, and multicultural approaches that reflect the diversity of our global design landscape.
Against a backdrop of economic and political changes, ICFF 2025 responds thoughtfully to evolving market conditions while encouraging international collaboration. The fair creates an immersive environment where craftsmanship, sustainability, and human connection are prioritized. Over three days, thousands of designers, architects, developers, and buyers will gather to experience the latest innovations in furniture, lighting, seating, textiles, and more.
As ICFF Brand Directors Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat explain, “Creativity and empathy are the foundational principles that should continue to guide our industry as we shape the future. Its mission is to design spaces, products, and experiences that address the needs of tomorrow, creating a future that is both optimistic and sustainable.”

A highlight of ICFF 2025 is WANTED, a dedicated platform nurturing tomorrow’s creative leaders. As Hainaut and Pijoulat note, “Having the WANTED section under the same roof with larger companies helps create an opportunity for visitors to discover those independent designers and studios. The way we design the WANTED area is also helping to capture the interest of the visitors as we envision it as an exhibit on its own.”
WANTED encompasses several key initiatives: Launch Pad, Look Book, the Design Schools Workshop, and a dedicated Schools Showcase—all designed to empower emerging talent with mentorship, visibility, and valuable industry connections.

DUSKSHAPED
Founded in Brooklyn in 2019, DUSKSHAPED makes experimental, witty design objects in the most sustainable common building material: metal. In these works, a longstanding obsession with linework and negative fields and a background in the logic-based disciplines of philosophy and music collide in a three-dimensional practice. DUSKSHAPED’s design ethos flows from a preoccupation with rigid order — and the moments when chaos pierces that order. In those moments lies the sublime. DUSKSHAPED is organized around environmental parsimony. This begins with steel and aluminum, the only common materials that are infinitely recyclable.
