The sentinels Ramón, Vilma and Carmen personify one of the most transcendent, instinctive acts that living beings have the pleasure of experiencing: caring and being cared for.
In caring, one weaves an intimate relationship with the other that transcends one’s own needs. This relationship is nurtured over time and is an act of mutual responsibility. It is not possible to care without listening to the needs of the other, it requires empathy and recognition.
This collection is an ode to the act of caring and we do it through these ornamented characters. For this, the designer uses artisanal processes such as carved wood and hand-turned metal parts, respecting the nature of the materials. The result is highly detailed objects that convey warmth.
Given that care has been for years an activity attributed only to women, Comité de Proyectos seeks to transcend the gender barrier by proposing an alternative to the paradigm under which we operate.
These pieces arise from a series of reactions to gender violence and seek to raise awareness of the way in which we relate to each other and our surroundings.
