This handbuilt ceramic vase continues the Floral Studies series – a personal exploration of natural forms and the quiet elegance of blooming shapes. Made from black stoneware, it reveals a subtle interplay between matte and glossy textures.
The exterior remains unglazed and is carefully polished by hand while leather-hard, resulting in a satin surface that feels warm and smooth to the touch. Inside, a transparent glaze creates a gentle contrast, while the glaze on the upper plane traces the outline of the flower, catching the light in a delicate, organic way.
Dark Bloom stands as both a sculptural object and a functional vessel – calm, tactile, and quietly expressive.
Handbuilt from black stoneware. Unglazed, hand-polished exterior; transparent glaze inside and on upper plane. Fired at 1250°C. Waterproof and suitable for fresh flowers.
