Description

100% designed, dyed, woven and shaved in Mexico, “Samalayuca” area rug is a statement piece inspired by the soft sand dunes in Samalayuca Desert in Northern Mexico. The organic curves represent the tall and dramatically shaped dunes in Samalayuca, and their constant movement with the wind. The muted neutral color palette represents the sunlight movement over the sand dunes through the course of the day. This piece has over 80 hours of rug-shaving work (and over 100 in rug-weaving) to imitate the ups and downs of the desert dunes, offering a wonderful tactile experience when you rest or step barefoot over the rug.
