Description

Available in an oiled or burnt finish, the Low coffee table by Montreal-based designer LESORR is crafted from rounded blocks of pine, where each wooden plank combines to create an ever-changing pattern of geometric forms as the edges curve inwards, evoking a rustic aesthetic. With subtle influences of mid-century modern design, its full form comes to life when grouped together, with separate pieces adapting to the spaces they inhabit. Glulam prefabricated 5.5 x 9.5 inches pine beams are meticulously cut down to the right length before being glued together in groups of 3, resulting in a 16.5 x 9.5 inches block. CNC technology rounds its edges, while a smaller rounded base is fixed to its bottom before the table is finished with either oil or a burnt finish followed by oiling.

David Raymond is a Montreal based product designer specializing in the objectification of the unique; both common and aesthetic. He is inspired by the allure of the urban and graphic, the sway of the natural and tangible. His creativity and aversion to limits establish a style that maximizes the physical characteristics of the materials used. This leads to a selection of works that toe the line between art piece and industrial object. Teaching himself to sew in 2017, Raymond recently expanded his work to include textiles and fashion pieces. In 2023, he launched his studio: Les Objets Raymond Raymond (LESORR). Offering a variety of items, the LESORR catalog ranges from collectible objects, to commercial items and custom creations. A reverence for raw materials characterizes all of the brand’s objects coupled with a style that maximizes the physical and graphic identity of the matter used.
