The Kandel lamp by Vincent Decat was designed by combining manufactured industrial parts, including bicycle clamps and pneumatic fittings. These elements were removed from their original context and repurposed in an entirely new setting. As part of the Components Series, the lamp belongs to a collection of objects that reimagine the function and environment of existing components. This series highlights the often-overlooked aesthetic qualities of industrial parts, which are typically seen only through the lens of their functionality.

Vincent Decat is a Paris-based craft designer who graduated from the Design Academy of Eindhoven in 2023 and creates pieces that blend sculpture, design, and art.
