Ciel (sky in French) are lamps designed after colours than can be seen in the sky at specific moments of the day. These lamps are hand made using screen printing techniques. The natural gradients are photographed, then the colours are digitally measured and reproduced for printing.
Inspired by the theatre techniques of putting fake lights behind a window structure, the Ciel lamps are created by adding artificial light behind a coloured surface. This specific lamp, Ciel III, uses the colours of a sun piercing through clouds.
