Description

This handbuilt ceramic vase is part of the Floral Studies series – a personal exploration of natural forms and the gentle beauty of blooming flowers. Covered with a soft white glaze, the surface is not perfectly smooth or uniform, but full of subtle variations that show the work of the hands that shaped it.
The shape, reminiscent of an opening flower, makes the vase a quiet and elegant presence in any interior. It works beautifully on its own as a sculptural object, but also serves its function just as well – it doesn’t compete with flowers but frames them gently, allowing their colours and shapes to stand out.

Handbuilt from stoneware, finished with a semi-matte soft white glaze, fired in an electric kiln at 1250°C. Waterproof and suitable for holding fresh flowers.

About Elena Yakimushkina Visit Showroom →

Born on the Baltic Coast, I've always drawn inspiration for my artwork from the serene beauty of northern nature. Ceramics, for me, is not just a craft; it's a lifelong passion and a medium for my creative expression. I am endlessly fascinated by the diverse forms, materials, and techniques that ceramics offer. One of the greatest joys of working with clay is the opportunity to experiment with firing techniques. I have a particular fondness for raku firing and wood firing, drawn to the hands-on nature of these methods and the element of serendipity they bring to the creative process. In each ceramic piece I create, I infuse a part of myself, establishing a profound connection between artist and art. Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey.
