Description

Leva Gudelaityté’s Vox wall lamp, crafted from marble dust, redefines the relationship between materiality and transparency. Traditionally a symbol of permanence and weight, marble is transformed into an ethereal medium, allowing light to diffuse softly through its delicate form. This interplay creates a striking tension between solidity and translucence, where the tactile presence of the material meets the intangible quality of light.

The design draws deeply from the ancient symbolism of the ear as a vessel of perception and understanding. In many cultures, the ear was revered as a conduit for wisdom, communication, and divine receptivity. In Vox, light becomes a metaphor for knowledge, passing through the material as if through a sensory gateway. It illuminates the surrounding space while encouraging reflection on the profound act of receiving and interpreting—a poetic interplay between the seen, the sensed, and the understood.

About Ieva Gudelaitytė Visit Showroom →

Ieva Gudelaityte is a Lithuanian designer and artist. In 2023, she graduated from Vilnius Arts Academy and completed her internship at Elisa Lacoste Studio in France. At the heart of Ieva’s creative work lies an exploration of the body’s symbolic and historical significance. Drawing from medieval perspectives, where physical forms—especially their imperfections—held divine connotations, her designs weave these ancient ideas into contemporary contexts. Salt, a material imbued with ancient ritualistic and protective qualities, is a recurring medium in her work, serving as both a conceptual anchor and a tangible connection to the past. With a deep commitment to material innovation, Ieva frequently develops custom textures and materials, crafting every detail of her projects from scratch. Her work invites viewers to reflect on the intersections of history, symbolism, and emotional resonance in design.
