Sjang Niederwieser’s lighting series, the “Volare S3”, is a masterful fusion of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship. The design artfully integrates 3D-printed structures with knitted spheres and copper wire, which serves both as a design element and an electrical conductor. Suspended within the wooden frame are delicate shapes, knitted from pure silk, held in place purely by tension. Each individual LED is meticulously soldered to the copper, transforming the lamp into a functional electric circuit. Remarkably, every element of this piece, from 3D printing to knitting, is crafted in-house, ensuring an impeccable standard of quality and attention to detail in each hand-assembled unit.
