Triptych Float by Sarah Tracton uses a groundbreaking single-wire system to support its weight, while being free of 240V cabling fixtures. As the porcelain sheets are fired, they show signs of natural imperfections, giving them a chance to express their unique character. Rather than discarding or concealing these flaws, Kintsugi repair is employed. This technique transforms the scars into a golden illumination, embracing imperfections and finding beauty in them. Not only does this process imbue an idiosyncratic beauty, but it also combats the environmental impacts of wastage by giving new life to what might have been deemed flawed or unusable.
