“Stillness is the only thing in this world that has no form. But then, it is not really a thing, and it is not of this world.”
At a time when the world came to a halt, marble atelier on.entropy tapped inwardly for sources of creativity and ways of continuing the making process. The result is a collection of objects made out of marble and blown glass, articles that had been lying dormant at workshops for decades – “Stillness”. Bringing new light into what is already there.
Re-envisaging form, function, and ways of being, with this collection on.entropy aims to explore the analogy between different cultures, materials, and their making process. Certain glass parts were blown in a family furnace in the 50s, marble items have been hand-sculpted as ornaments for religious reliefs, while some others are remains of a CNC method of carving.
With craftsmanship at heart and stillness as a condition, the collection ultimately wishes to highlight that their co-existence is not just a matter of mere chance, but a conscious attempt to sustain their heritage.
