Work in Practice, designed by Studio Fabius Colvis, is a remarkable series of handcrafted furniture pieces that transform discarded materials into functional art. The collection primarily utilizes scrap wood, including thin sheets of plywood commonly used in transportation and often discarded afterward. These salvaged materials are thoughtfully repurposed to “upholster” frames constructed from slender wooden beams, resulting in innovative and sustainable designs.

Each piece is meticulously coated with a highly durable finish, ensuring longevity while preserving the raw beauty of its reclaimed materials. By rescuing these resources from the trash pile and giving them new life, Studio Fabius Colvis champions a philosophy of mindful design, where waste becomes a medium for creativity and transformation.

Utrecht-born artist designer Pepijn Fabius Clovis is a name that's been quietly gaining momentum in the Dutch design scene. As his career continues to soar, Pepijn Fabius Clovis is poised to become a leading figure in the international design landscape. His work is inspired by everyday objects and (waste)materials, which he transforms into unique and unexpected pieces. His use of recycled materials demonstrates his commitment to ethical design. He is particularly interested in exploring the boundaries between art and design, and creating objects that are both beautiful and functional.
