The Pattern of Industry is a furniture series featuring geometric patterns created by assembling cross-sections of industrial aluminum profiles. The functional material initially produced for utility, transforms into an aesthetic object, evoking a sense of “tradition” subjectively shaped by the viewer’s cultural background. The ease of assembling aluminum profiles, combined with the artist’s newly discovered narratives, allows the series to expand into various everyday furniture and art pieces. The PF60-Low Table, in particular, is inspired by the form of the traditional Korean ‘soban’ and is designed as a low tea table.
The legs use aluminum for weight and stability, while the scratch-resistant acrylic top ensures durability. The materials are bolted together, and its translucent patterns add a subtle elegance.
