PAGODE WAHIBA breathes the austere aesthetics and warm feel-good atmosphere of the Japanese furnishing style. Kanzo, shizen and seijaku, simplicity, naturalness and tranquility characterise the wooden stool, which is formally reminiscent of the building culture of pagodas. Three square tiers rise upwards like towers in an artistic interplay of horizontals and verticals. Each stool is unique. Its hand-formed wave structure is as random as wind-formed sand dunes. The lively interplay of light and shadow of the wooden corpus contrasts excitingly with the elegant austerity of the seat cushion. PAGODE WAHIBA is made to be enjoyed in and out of use.
Pagodas from early traditional architecture, self-contained temple buildings with 3 floors, symbolizing spiritual tranquility, harmony and source of energy, were the inspiration for the PAGODE WAHIBA stool. Its wooden structure is inspired by the magical sand desert Ramlat al Wahiba in Oman and the wave-like flow of its dune landscape, which is permanently changed by the wind. A narrow base supports the hand-oiled oak stool. Its seat cushion is available in 2 high-quality wool fabrics: Plain black or bicoloured melange with a delicate zigzag pattern, woven from different colored wool threads in traditional herringbone technique.
