This sacred meeting place was marked by the Omphalos, a stone set at the heart of the earth. The Omphalos was believed to bridge the earthly realm with the divine.

Introducing Omphalos, Zoran Strijbosch latest design that blends the timeless with the tangible. Inspired by this ancient symbol, Omphalos serves as a reminder of time’s duality—its ability to destroy and create. Just as the Omphalos stone was the meeting point between heaven and earth, the designers product series invites you to experience the interaction between the broken and the whole.

As a child, he spent a lot of time in his father’s factory, Strijbosch Acrylics Unlimited, in Amsterdam. From the age of 16, he worked in production at SAU, which further developed his curiosity and skills. This hands-on experience led him to study product design at the HKU, where he honed his expertise in acrylic materials. With his own workshop in Amsterdam, Zoran has the freedom to create handcrafted products that bring his design vision to life. Beyond his work, Zoran has a deep love for his city, Amsterdam, his football club Ajax, and a passion for the Casual lifestyle and fashion. These diverse interests converge at Studio Zoran Strijbosch, where he expresses his creative vision in every piece he designs.
