Description

Mutual Core merges acoustic performance with sculptural form, offering a rare union of craftsmanship and sound. Each pair features a hand-built ceramic horn and a carefully crafted wooden enclosure designed to be both seen and heard.

Unlike any other speaker on the market, Mutual Core is built around a true ceramic architecture—both visually striking and acoustically purposeful. It is the only speaker system currently available that uses ceramic as a core acoustic material, making each pair exceptionally rare in both design and performance.

The horns are slip-cast in dense stoneware, then glazed or hand-carved to create a mineral surface that’s as tactile as it is functional. Ceramic’s natural damping properties allow the horn to remain inert—only the air inside moves—preserving clarity and detail across frequencies. The result is immersive, directional sound with remarkable presence and microtexture.

Ceramic horns are available in four finish options:
– Matte White / Hand Carved Exterior
– Matte White / White Crawl Glaze Exterior
– Matte Black / Hand Carved Exterior
– Matte Black / Black Crawl Glaze Exterior

Speaker cabinets are available in two wood finishes: Oak or Walnut.

Every detail has been considered, down to the ceramic feet—crafted to match the horn’s finish—and the ceramic tag discreetly placed behind each horn, marking the origin and individuality of the piece.

The wooden enclosure complements the horn’s precision with warmth and depth, grounding the low end with clarity and weight. Inside, a passive crossover is hand-soldered using high-quality components to preserve signal purity.

Designed for interiors where sound is part of the visual language—spaces that value both sonic presence and material beauty.

Hand-built in Kingston, New York by French ceramicists Benedicte and Jerome Leclere. Each pair is signed, numbered, and produced in small batches.

About L'Impatience Visit Showroom →

L’Impatience is the creative studio of French ceramicists Benedicte and Jerome Leclere, based in Kingston, New York. With backgrounds in music production and art direction, they bring a multidisciplinary approach to their practice, merging sculptural ceramics with sound and interior design. At the heart of their work is a desire to create pieces that are both elemental and refined—objects that engage the senses and elevate daily rituals. Their process is guided by material sensitivity, thoughtful restraint, and a deep respect for form and function. Their latest project, Mutual Core, is a sculptural high-fidelity speaker system that unites acoustic precision with the expressive qualities of ceramic. Entirely hand-built in small batches, it reflects L’Impatience’s pursuit of purity—in sound, in form, and in intention.
