The wooden version of the Metate Coffee Table by Tu Taller Design is a testament to craftsmanship and versatility in furniture design. It exemplifies how a form reflecting minimalist design is underpinned by meticulous artisanal work. This table is crafted from over 160 pieces of natural oak wood that fit together seamlessly to achieve its curved underside. It undergoes a turning process to round off its legs and is hand-polished to achieve a smooth texture across its entire surface.

The black wood gives it a unique and distinctive character, gracefully adapting to a wide range of environments and adding a cozy, sophisticated air to any space. This coffee table becomes a true focal point, drawing attention for its elegance and refinement. In contrast to the black finished version, the natural Metate coffee table exudes warmth and honesty, showcasing the material in its pure state.

David Del Valle was born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1988. He studied Industrial Design at the Pontifical Bolivarian University. After working in the metal-mechanical industry for three years, he founded his furniture and objects design studio, Tu Taller, in November 2012. He currently serves as the creative director of Del Valle Studio, an interior design studio that bears his surname. His work has been exhibited at prestigious design fairs such as Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, Salone Satélite in Milan, Maison&Objet Paris, Wanted Design New York, Ventura Lambrate Milan, EXPO Dubai, Brussels Design Market, and London Design Festival. He has also curated the London Design Biennale. David aims to create artistic and functional speculations, employing astonishing processes in their materialization. He strives to challenge cultural paradigms through a global design approach, taking into account a difficult, yet unique and inspiring context.
