In the exquisite design of Andreas Anwander’s “Memento Side Table,” artistry meets memory. This table isn’t merely a piece of furniture; it’s an encapsulation of cherished memories and stories. Crafted with the intent to enshrine artifacts, artwork, or items of profound sentimental value, it offers a protected yet visible space for those treasured keepsakes.
Andreas recalls the poignant tale that inspired this creation. As teenagers, he and his siblings were enamored by a particular denim jacket that their father cherished. Worn and frayed yet possessing an aura of inestimable value, the jacket stood as a testament to their father’s vibrant youth. While they were forbidden to wear it, they understood it as their father’s memento, a tangible piece of his past. Following their father’s passing, the sacred jacket became their shared legacy, a precious heirloom they neither wore nor wished to tuck away in obscurity.
It was this emotional conundrum that birthed the “Memento” table. Andreas envisioned a sanctuary for such heirlooms, where they could be both safeguarded and showcased. With its certified Freijo and Imbuia solid wood construction, combined with a wood-framed glass box, this table invites owners to place their invaluable possessions within, keeping memories alive and ever-present.
