Annie Legault is a textile artist dedicated to slow design, meticulously handcrafting each sculptural piece in her studio in Old Montreal. Since founding AMULETTE in 2013, she has developed a distinctive practice focused on handcrafted objects, functional fine art, and custom commissions. Her work is grounded in material integrity and a concept-led approach, consciously distanced from industrial production and digital processes.
Each piece emerges from a deliberate, repetitive craft — a rhythm of making that imprints the work with presence and nuance. Her sculptural lighting pieces are both physical and poetic, revealing the value of time, gesture, and the human hand.
CAREX, named after a genus of wild grasses, is a monumental textile lamp standing 10 feet tall (approx. 305 cm). The work pays homage to forest environments and botanical structures while reinterpreting them through a minimalist and contemporary lens. With its verticality and soft volume, CAREX becomes a functional sculpture — casting warm light and sculptural presence into a space. Its organic silhouette softens architecture and invites quiet attention.
Winner of the 2019 Rado Star Prize Canada – Prix du Public, Annie Legault’s RAW Collection continues to evolve through works like CAREX, which blur the line between object and atmosphere. Each piece is made entirely of natural materials and can be adapted to suit residential, commercial, or institutional spaces.
AMULETTE Studio produces one-of-a-kind textile works for interior designers, galleries, and collectors internationally. Custom sizes and colors are available on request — as shown, CAREX can also be made in smaller formats.
Each piece is made to order and can be customized in color and format to suit your needs.
