Part of an ongoing ‘Wax on/Wax off’ series, this bronze table lamp is cast using a self-built wax-dipping machine called TONK, based on old candle-dipping technique, combined with lost-wax casting. No two pieces come out the same.

This lamp belongs to the ongoing Wax on/Wax off series, an exploration of lost-wax casting combined with wax-dipping. The wax-dipping stage is carried out using a self-made machine called TONK, built on the old technique of candle dipping and adapted here to explore new shapes and forms through a different medium.

Combining TONK with lost-wax casting produces a genuinely unique piece every time — the process itself, rather than a fixed mould, determines each lamp’s final form.
