The «Eukaryota» collection by Eglė Šimkus draws its inspiration from the three realms of the living world: animals, fungi, and plants. The forms intertwine fluidly, allowing imagination to roam freely. The predominant color of «Eukaryota» sculptures is a «Tapaze» white, achieved through skillful layering of various enamels and engobes. It’s an invitation to contemplate the interdependence of species and the beauty of diversity while questioning our role in this complex ecosystem. Eglė Šimkus’s artistic work seeks to evoke an emotional connection with nature and encourage introspection on our place in the living world.
The color Blanc topaze is a mix of matte white, topaze green, and sky blue. This color was conceived through several layers of slips and glazes.

Eglė Simkus is a visual artist born in Lithuania in 1990 and based in France since childhood. Her work sits at the crossroads of art, design, and craftsmanship, exploring the fusion between the human and the natural world. Through hand-built pieces combining clay, metal, and wood, she creates organic forms in continuous transformation. Informed by photography and writing, her practice reflects on our connection to the living and seeks to reconcile matter, memory, and emotion.
