Came Uninvited is a sculptural table inspired by living structures and crafted entirely by hand.
It evokes a living presence whose colors suggest a nature from another time, another reality. The piece hints at a mutation, an organism that has been altered. It questions the impact of humans on nature and embodies the silent transformations our behaviors impose on ecosystems. A once-familiar organism becomes strange, recognizable yet changed.
This piece was 3D-printed and reinforced for greater durability. The finish was handcrafted with acrylic paint and coated with a protective varnish.

This table is fully functional.

Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist and designer. Graduated from the Design Academy of Eindhoven, he creates collectible design pieces that integrate sculptural thinking into everyday use. His work is characterized by forms that suggest life and movement, pieces that seem to breathe or shift. These animal-like qualities transform functional objects into personal and engaging pieces.
