The idea of the “BAUHAUS” vase was to explore the limits of glass deformation with experimentation during the craft process of glassblowing and to celebrate the 100 years of Bauhaus School by using its classical shapes – triangle, square and circle to structure the glass ball. The concept aimed to disrupt the inherent round shape, a product of traditional artisanal blowing techniques, by provoking deviations from the usual process of creating mass-produced items.
The base is made in Brazilian wood Cumaru and is used to suspend the glass, allowing stability to the piece, and retains the resulting shape of the glassblowing craftsman. The Cumaru is a hard and resistant wood and is often used in Brazil for outdoor flooring and stairs. The idea is to value this beautiful and natural material by giving it a new function.
The raw material used is glass, doesn’t contain lead in its composition, its recyclable and uses an electric oven, without the burning of CO2.
