Aqua is a small glass structure designed to hold and display cut flowers. Instead of containing them, this vase supports and enhances them, transforming the act of arranging flowers into a poetic and conscious gesture.
Entirely handmade in borosilicate glass, Aqua is part of the Ikebana for Beginners project, in which the object becomes an extension of the emotions of those who use it. The inspiration comes from the desire to reverse the traditional concept of a vase: no longer a simple container, but an active tool, capable of creating a dialogue between matter, light and nature.
The shape of Aqua consists of a circular base connected, through a thin hollow cylinder, to a twin element at the top. The latter has seven openings, designed to accommodate single-stem flowers and allow for essential and balanced compositions, where each flower finds its own space and meaning.
Like a balance between fullness and emptiness, the transparent glass becomes the link between water and flowers, light and shadow, silence and movement. Its structure, as simple as it is sophisticated, invites a new way of observing the art of ikebana: no longer just a formal arrangement, but visual meditation, a dialogue between gesture and matter.
Aqua is thus more than a vase: it is an object that breathes, reflecting and amplifying the ephemeral beauty of nature. An element capable of bringing harmony and lightness to any contemporary environment, where the purity of glass meets the vitality of flowers.
