Description

The Amud side table by Selma Lazrak is inspired by the architecture of the columns found in Moroccan and Moorish architecture. The fluting of the edges draws from the rich architectural heritage of all the civilizations that have populated these lands, from the Romans to the Arab-Andalusians. This design element reflects a deep historical narrative.
The monolithic character of the piece further enhances its commanding presence. Carved from a single block of stone, it exudes solidity and permanence, grounding any space with its substantial form. The unbroken surface showcases the natural beauty of the material, while the fluted detailing transforms the solid mass into an ornamental piece. This interplay between the raw, unyielding nature of the stone and the intricate carvings highlights the skillful craftsmanship involved.

Carved from a single block of travertine stone. Handcrafted by local artisans.
