Description

Vibrant, colourful, dignified: Theia, donning her magnificent ceremonial attire with grace, stands as a true titaness. This goddess of light effortlessly melds the robustness of her glass and ceramic elements. As the sun’s progenitor, a tender dawn stirs beneath Theia’s glass skirt. Her radiant presence and contributions to the creation of the cosmos are justifiably considered her momentous accomplishments.

Material & Finish
The pendant light Theia consists of a bell-shaped transparent glass, behind which a pink pigmented glass encloses the light body. In addition, there are four ceramic shapes, painted in the colours light green, orange, light blue, and dark red-violet with a matte finish. A suspension tube made of sturdy iron, coloured in gold-silver, holds the lamp stable and securely, with the length of the suspension being adjustable. The pendant lamp Theia was handcrafted, making each piece a unique item. Due to this individual manufacturing, the lamps may vary in material and surface from the model shown in the photos. The weight may vary by 1-2 kg, as it is a handmade product.

Product Story
Theia’s light unveils another beauty secret nestled at the universe’s core. With a morning salute, the sun itself invites its creator to partake in casting the world in sublime luminosity, to ascend in a graceful celestial dance, and to whisper beauty, hope, and love into the hearts of humanity.

About Studio Sphaer Visit Showroom →

SPHAER founder Leni Piëch, born in 1993 in Vienna, is a product designer who graduated with honours with a master’s degree in Innovation Management from the renowned Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Her master’s thesis dealt with “feminist worlding”: a deconstruction of human realities in non-human worlds. The focus on the approach of radical otherness and the exploration of non-human dimensions continues in her work as a designer. As a mother of three children, Leni Piëch is interested in setting her dream vision of “worlding” in motion: She designs worlds as mindsets and perspectives that include approaches and sensitivities to make visible the diversity of interrelationships and entanglements between humans and non-humans in the world. She adopts alternative perspectives, questions existing hierarchies and dominance, and explores new stories and possibilities to promote social innovation and create a more equitable and sustainable world. “Worlding” emphasises the importance of mindfulness and care towards non-human actors. Leni Piëch embodies a visionary who influences the field of product design and interior design with her inspiring idea of the power of worlding.
